We thought it was about time we wrote a new update about where we are up to with our impending move.
Firstly, our Greek Night, back in March, was an astonishing success, praise God!
The food that Michelle and Andreas prepared was just fantastic and the help we were given by certain individuals (they know who they are) made us feel very loved and supported. Thank you all so much.
We raised more than £2,000 on the night which was way beyond our wildest dreams. Thanks again to everyone who supported us (head over to our Facebook page for all the details), we couldn’t have done it without you and the whole night put us in a much better position to be heading out to Kitwe soon.
God has made some astounding connections for us in the last couple of months which have really affirmed our faith that we are walking on His path.
We have been introduced to several families from Kitwe itself, including a couple who have also recently joined Avail, the charity which has been an enormous help to us during our journey. Basil and Karen have lots of contacts in the city, which will be a Godsend when we get out there, and Basil actually went to school with and was mentored by Joseph (Mwila), who we will be working alongside in Zambia.
We have also been in touch with Terry Virgo, who started Newfrontiers back in the 1970s, and with some of the other leaders of our group of churches. They have been very encouraging and our story was shared on the ChristCentral website and Facebook page.
We were also contacted – completely out of the blue! – by a school teacher in Horsham, when a pupil of hers asked her if he and the class could raise money for us, which led to a whole-school cake sale which raised £149! The picture at the top of this post is one of the ones that was specially baked for the sale. Thanks so much to Miss Ward and H11 at The Forest School (www.theforestschool.com/)
I’m sure there will be more to share in the upcoming months and we’ll try to write more frequently in future! Thanks for reading.
We’d love your support.
We’re really excited to have been given the opportunity to move to Kitwe as missionaries. But as we won’t be paid for our work, we would really appreciate it if you might consider helping us.
We are very aware of the financial pressures people are under. But if you feel you could help us financially, there are two ways to get involved. We really need individuals and businesses who would be able to sponsor us with a regular monthly payment of any amount.
One-off donations would also be amazing and can be made via our home church, Jubilee Church Wirral. Donating via Jubilee is safe and secure and means you can Gift Aid your donation. To donate, please visit bit.ly/missionzambia
If you do feel you would be able to sponsor us on a monthly basis, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 07714 102661.
We really appreciate your prayers and any help you can give us.
